The short answer

New PCs and laptops arrive desk ready when WaTo Consulting handles the rollout for an Adelaide business. The team sources the hardware, loads a standard build with your software and security settings, moves data across from the old machine, joins it to your network and tests it at the desk. Old drives are wiped and the hardware recycled.

What is PC deployment?

PC deployment is the process of getting a computer from the box to the desk, ready to use. That means choosing the right hardware, installing the operating system and business software, applying security settings, joining it to your network, and configuring email and printers. For a single machine it's an afternoon; for a fleet rollout it's a project. Either way, it's better handled by someone who does it every day.

What we do

Hardware sourcing

We recommend and supply PCs, laptops and monitors from trusted brands at competitive pricing, without the retail markup.

Standard image builds

A consistent build with your software, settings and security policies so every machine in the office matches.

Data migration

Files, bookmarks, email profiles and settings moved from the old machine to the new one without losing anything.

Network & domain joining

Each machine connected to your network, domain or cloud directory with the right permissions from the start.

Desk-ready delivery

Machines delivered, plugged in, tested at the desk and confirmed working, monitors, peripherals and all.

Old hardware disposal

Drives securely wiped and old equipment recycled or disposed of responsibly, with a certificate if you need one.

Who it's for

  • Adelaide businesses hiring new staff who need a machine set up and ready on day one.
  • Offices planning a fleet refresh and wanting every PC built to the same standard.
  • Growing companies that don't have time to set up machines themselves between everything else.
  • Businesses with compliance requirements that need consistent security settings across every device.

How it works

  1. We understand your needs. What software do you use, how many machines, what's the budget? A quick conversation covers it.
  2. We source the hardware. PCs or laptops ordered from our supplier network at business pricing, with warranty sorted.
  3. We build and configure. Operating system, applications, security policies and network settings loaded onto each machine to your standard.
  4. We deliver and install. Machines dropped to the desk, plugged in, tested and confirmed working, including monitors and peripherals.
  5. We handle the old gear. Data migrated, old drives wiped securely and hardware recycled or returned, so there's nothing left to worry about.

Why WaTo for PC deployment

  • We've rolled out hundreds of machines across Adelaide businesses, from single desks to full office fit-outs.
  • Every machine is built to a consistent standard so your IT stays tidy and supportable.
  • One team handles sourcing, setup, delivery and ongoing support, so there are no handoffs between companies.
  • Adelaide owned since 2001, so we know local suppliers, local networks and local businesses.
  • We test everything at the desk before we leave, not just in the workshop.

PC deployment questions

Can you set up just one PC or does it have to be a bulk order?

We do both. Whether it's a single laptop for a new starter or fifty machines for a new office, the process is the same: sourced, built to standard and delivered ready to use.

How long does a PC deployment take?

A single machine can usually be ready within two to three business days. Larger rollouts are scheduled to suit your timeline, and we'll give you a clear plan upfront.

Can you match our existing setup so everything is consistent?

That's exactly what we do. We document your standard build (software, settings, security policies) and replicate it across every machine.

What brands do you supply?

We work with Lenovo, HP, Dell and Microsoft Surface primarily. We'll recommend the best fit for your use case and budget, not just whatever's on special.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How do your plans and pricing work?

Whatever suits you: a fixed contract, a monthly retainer, prepaid blocks of hours, or simple hourly rates. You pick the model that fits your business, and we keep it transparent with no surprise bills.

How quickly do you respond?

Fast. You talk to a real person, not a call queue. For urgent issues we're often on-site within the hour across Adelaide, with remote support Australia-wide.

Do you only do IT support?

No. IT & Digital, cyber security, websites & hosting, business solutions and currency equipment, all from one local team. One number to call.

What does it cost?

Managed IT is typically $80 to $200 per user per month. One-off help is $115 an hour remote or $180 an hour on site. Prices are ex GST. See our rates.

Do you support businesses outside Adelaide?

Yes. We're Adelaide-based with on-site visits across South Australia, remote support Australia-wide, and we fly in to clients in Darwin, Brisbane and elsewhere for planned work.

Will you work with our existing IT person?

Absolutely. We often co-manage, taking on monitoring, security and after-hours cover alongside your in-house team.

Who we work with

Our story

Built in Adelaide, since 2001

WaTo Consulting was founded by John Watson in Adelaide in 2001. Over two decades it's earned a name for tailored work across a wide range of industries, helping businesses of every size run more smoothly, work more efficiently and grow steadily, without blowing the budget or disrupting the day-to-day. Rumour has it the story starts much earlier, with a young Wato on his grandfather's knee in front of a Commodore 64, learning to code in BASIC.

Emma Watson (née Dickenson) was part of the story for a stage along the way. She brought real estate and property management expertise, and a clear view of where the business could go: growing it, bringing in new systems and fresh thinking, and lifting the standard of how things are done. WaTo has been through plenty of shapes and stages since, but one thing she helped sharpen has never changed: being consistent for the client is a must.

Today it's all tailored, never off-the-shelf: IT & Digital, Business & Web Hosting, built around what each client actually needs. Over the years those areas have come together under one roof: our IT & Digital, Currency, Business and Web Hosting work now all sit within WaTo Consulting. One team, one standard, looking after the lot.

When you work with us, you're a partner, not just a client.
