The short answer
Business desktops, laptops, servers and NAS units are repaired and upgraded by WaTo Consulting in Adelaide, either on site or collected and brought back. You get a quote after diagnosis and a straight answer on whether to repair, upgrade or replace. SSD and memory upgrades are a common way to speed up older machines without reinstalling anything.
What are hardware repairs & upgrades?
Hardware repairs cover diagnosing and fixing physical faults in your business computers and equipment, things like failed hard drives, broken screens, faulty power supplies or overheating. Upgrades mean improving what you've already got: adding an SSD for speed, more RAM for performance, or replacing ageing components to extend the life of a machine. The goal is keeping your team working without spending money you don't need to.

Repair-or-replace advice
If a repair costs more than the machine is worth, we'll say so and help you plan the replacement.
Who it's for
- Businesses with ageing PCs or laptops that are slowing down but aren't ready for the skip.
- Offices dealing with hardware failures: dead drives, broken screens, machines that won't start.
- Companies wanting to extend the life of their existing fleet with targeted upgrades.
- Anyone who wants an honest opinion on whether to repair, upgrade or replace.
How it works
- Tell us what's wrong. Call or email, describe the fault and we'll give you an idea of what we're looking at.
- Diagnosis. We check the hardware, identify the fault and give you a clear quote before any work starts.
- Honest recommendation. If it's worth repairing, we fix it. If an upgrade makes more sense, we'll explain why. If it's past it, we'll say so.
- Repair or upgrade. Parts sourced, work done and the machine tested properly before it goes back to you.
- Back to work. Returned to you ready to use, with a summary of what was done and any follow-up advice.
Why WaTo for hardware repairs
- Honest advice. We won't repair something that should be replaced, or replace something that just needs a new drive.
- Business-focused. We understand downtime costs money and prioritise getting you back to work.
- Local Adelaide workshop and on-site service. We come to you, or collect the machine and bring it back.
- One team for hardware, software, cloud and everything else, so you're not bouncing between providers.

Hardware repairs & upgrades questions
How do I know if it's worth repairing?
As a rough guide, if the repair costs more than half what a replacement would, it's usually time to replace. We'll give you both options and a straight recommendation, with no pressure either way.
How long does a typical repair take?
Simple jobs like an SSD upgrade or memory swap are usually same day. More involved repairs depend on parts availability, but we'll give you a timeframe upfront and keep you posted.
Can you upgrade our old PCs instead of replacing them?
Often, yes. An SSD and a memory upgrade can make a three- or four-year-old machine feel new again for a fraction of the replacement cost. We'll check whether it makes sense for your specific hardware.
Do you repair Macs as well as PCs?
We work on both. For Macs under AppleCare we'll point you in the right direction, but for out-of-warranty repairs and upgrades where Apple allows it, we can help.
