The short answer
When a coin machine, note counter or currency scale breaks down, WaTo Consulting sends a technician with no contract needed, aiming for same day in Adelaide metro and usually next business day in other capitals and major regional centres. Technicians carry common parts, work on all major brands and test the machine before leaving.
What are ad-hoc repair call-outs?
Ad-hoc repair call-outs are on-demand repairs for currency equipment that's broken down or not performing correctly. Unlike planned maintenance, you call us when something goes wrong and we respond. Our technicians diagnose the issue on-site, carry common spare parts, and aim to get your machine back up in a single visit. It's the service you need when downtime is costing you money right now.
What we cover
Coin machine repairs
Jams, sensor failures, hopper issues, sorting errors and mechanical breakdowns on all major coin counter and sorter models.
Note counter repairs
Feed problems, double-note detection faults, display errors, counterfeit sensor failures and motor issues.
Scale repairs
Drift, zeroing faults, load cell failures, display malfunctions and calibration issues on currency scales.
On-site diagnosis
Our technicians carry diagnostic tools and common parts, so most issues are identified and resolved in a single visit.
Parts sourcing
If a part isn't in the van, we source it quickly from our stock or direct from the manufacturer and return to finish the job.
Post-repair testing
Every repair is followed by a full function test to confirm the machine is counting accurately before we leave your site.
Who it's for
- Any business with a currency machine down and cash processing waiting, from banks and clubs to retail and CIT.
- Organisations without a maintenance contract that need a reliable repair provider they can call when things break.
- Multi-site businesses that need a single provider to handle call-outs across different locations.
- Finance and ops managers who need a machine back in service today, not next week.
How it works
- You call us. Ring (08) 7123 0805, describe the fault and tell us the machine make and model. A real person answers.
- We triage the issue. Sometimes a quick phone walkthrough fixes it. If not, we schedule a technician visit: same day in metro, next business day for regional.
- Our technician arrives. With diagnostic tools and common spare parts in the van, ready to get your machine running.
- We diagnose and repair. The fault is identified, repaired and the machine tested with live currency before we leave.
- You get a service report. A written summary of what failed, what was done and any follow-up recommendations, useful for your records and budgeting.

Repair call-out questions
How quickly can you get a technician to us?
In Adelaide metro, we aim for same-day attendance. For other capital cities and major regional centres, next business day is typical. Remote sites may take longer, and we'll be upfront about timing when you call.
Do we need a contract to request a call-out?
No. Ad-hoc call-outs are available to any business. That said, if breakdowns are becoming frequent, a planned maintenance agreement often works out cheaper and prevents most issues before they happen.
What if the machine needs a part you don't have on hand?
We'll source it as quickly as possible, usually from our Adelaide stock or direct from the manufacturer. We'll give you a realistic timeline and come back to finish the job once the part arrives.
Can you repair equipment from any manufacturer?
We work on all major brands of coin machines, note counters and currency scales used in Australia. If it's an unusual model we haven't seen before, we'll tell you upfront rather than guess.
What does a service visit cost?
On-site work on currency equipment is $360 per 2-hour block or part of one, plus GST, including travel to sites up to 100 km driving distance from the Adelaide CBD. Sites further away have a set travel charge of $1,750 per site and $230 per technician per night when an overnight stay is needed. Full details are on our rates page.
